A Review on Emeibaby’s Stellar Hybrid Carrier

There was a slight delay on my postings and reviews. The family had been through a lot earlier this year. Few months ago, my partner had a new job so we needed to: find a new house,  move to another city and adopt to our new place. It was a bit of a challenge getting used to a new house and environment especially with smaller kids. The arrival of this wrap was somehow a breath of fresh air for me. A new fluff mail with a baby carrier inside for review is something that I look forward to all the time. I thank Camille Manalo of Baby Wearing Tester Ph/  Wear your Baby Ph and the admins for this opportunity.

Welcoming Stellar and our new abode (on the back ground)

The new place we have now is  just a few  blocks away from the very heart of the city where supermarkets, wet market and other establishments are. Daddy’s office now is a bit far as compared to where he used to so, almost everything in our household is up to me now. I am yayaless, I have no help and the two younger ones can be a bit of a handful. I practically depended on baby-wearing to do what I got to do.

Emeibaby Stellar also arrived just in time for my youngest first birthday so this had become our official birthday wrap/carrier. I really had a great time testing this wrap. This was perfect because we had an outdoor party.

Damian Jossef’s first birthday!

I am not much of a fan of brown when it comes to my own clothings although, I like dark colored dresses and earth tone accessories. If I were to buy and choose a carrier I would prefer bold, fun or bright colored ones to make a contrast on my usual choices of wardrobe. To make it short, it was not my color.

Outdoors and indoors this carrier is just so comfortable for both my the wearee and wearer.

I was a little bit intimidated when I first tried this carrier. I already used ring sling from a previous review and I am an Ssc user. Suddenly, I did not know what to make out of this carrier! My wearee was excited already and because I am just too slow he started to get anxious and irritated. Okay, we both got anxious, I took my time and read the leaflet that came with it. Alright, so it is just like an ssc with another cloth in front.

After sometime, I got the hang of it. When I wear the little one I think I was strucked by the babywearing cupid. I…was… so inlove with it! To my astonishment my little cub’s weight was lessened!

Doin’ back carry while doin’ the cookin, so comfortable and secure.

The wrap is so beautiful when worn, it looked so regal and classic. I just have to take back that I do not like brown. I love looking at the stars at night and my kids and I are so obsessed with listening to Twinkle twinkle little star by Super Simple Songs on youtube. This wrap reminded me of those that I enjoy, the tranquility of looking up at the clear sky at night.

So stunning, picture perfect of course, us too.

I can wear my LO hours or more without having back aches and shoulder pains. The weight of a heavy baby is distributed in lots of way. The ring sling also provided great support and ensures proper positions of the baby, kneepit to kneepit.  I would definitely recommend this carrier to moms with infants and up to toddlerhood stage. Unlike any other carrier, this hybrid carrier is adjustable. All you have to do is adjust the top sling the one in front and spread it whoalah no need for infant inserts and no need to upgrade to toddler ssc.

As I have mentioned earlier we needed to do a lot of walking here and there to get things done and get accustomed to our new place. The little one had been cranky because of the new surroundings that I had to carry him most of the time. One thing that hinders me from wearing too long is the hot humid weather but I am so impressed with this carrier because it absolutely comfortable, light and airy. I got no problem with prolong use. My cub was so comfortable,  that the most important thing for us moms.

I felt so lonely when I needed to part ways with Stellar. I wish I could keep it longer but that just the way it is to be a tester I have to pass it down to another momma. I could buy yes, but then that would be too much for us. I already have a wrap and an ssc, I have to be practical. If only I have known this brand before, I would definitely go with this one. If you are interested on this carrier, which is an absolute a keeper,  you can contact CEO Emporium on facebook they are the official distributor/ retailer here in the Philippines. I guarantee it is worth your every pesos. Also check out Emeibaby’s website for other types of designs and carrier. For me, I could browse for hours just looking at their products.

Friends and relative also admired this wrap and our ability to take care of the baby, at the same time diy-ing our party, all thanks to babywearing!

Si Kulibangbang ni Pinaynay

(Testing and review of QB collection standard half conversion ssc* Red Rainbow Kulibangbang)

Type of carrier: (Half) wrap conversion carrier- ssc

Name of Wrap/carrier: Red Rainbow Kulibangbang

Brand: QB Collection

Blend: 100% cotton

Size: Standard

Wearer: 5 ft 2 inches in height 57kgs in wt.

Built/size: Medium

Wearee: 11 mos 9.3 kgs, Boy

Longest Carry: 2 hours (estimated)

I am a dreadlocks momma so obviously, the colors red, yellow and green are appealing to me, always…automatically. I was very attracted on the colorway of the wrap (that was used on this carrier) when I first saw it on the Facebook page of Quality Brand. For me, whenever  Rasta color is represented, it is love.

For those who are curious, the wrap and the carrier was produced on the the northern part of the Luzon in the Philippines thus the name…Kulibangbang. Kulibangbang means butterfly in Ilocano language.
I was a newbie with regards to ssc usage when I saw that Quality brand is manufacturing this type of carrier. What I knew was this was the “it” thing in the baby wearing community but, I also knew that imported carriers are also really expensive. So when I discovered that there is a local version, I got really excited. The price was a steal for a budget savvy mom like me. To be honest, I wanted to try and buy this for us but, it just so happened that my first love was baby wrapping, I opted for their handwoven wrap.

First Uppy!

I recieved the carrier together with it’s drool pads and hood. I like the whole structure. The color is definitely stunning in person. It looked sturdy. I inspected the buckles and the straps and for me it seemed safe enough even for back carry. I do back carry more often at these times, makes me a “superwoman”.

When the package arrived my daughter was more excited than me. Whenever I get packages she always tells me “It’s baby wearing!”eventhough its not. Anyway, upon seeing this she immediately asked if she could see her little brother being carried. So who am I to refuse? My son was 9 months and weighs 9. 3 kgs. at the time of the testing. He is indeed very clingy and becoming heavier when worn on longer periods of time.

Packed with lots of sleepy dust!

After a week of testing this wrap conversion ssc, here is what I have concluded. The carrier is very supportive for toddler. I have not had a single problem setting up the carrier, definitely a to go carrier. The buckles and straps are safe enough for both front and back carries. I just had a little discomfort with the shoulder straps, it can become quite diggy on prolong usage. The pannel size on the leg part is not as wide for the legs of my little one to be on kneepit to kneepit even if I tried to achieve deeper seat. I just wish it was adjustable. I guess we need a toddler size for him. This is best for smaller babies. For the comfort part, I guess this type of carrier is ideal on a colder weather and place. It is okay for mall use but, with this beauty? It deserved to be flaunted just about anywhere.

I am so honored to have been able to do my review on this piece of art. It is indeed an artwork, I can just imagine each thread of the cloth of gliding as it was being woven, string by string and piece by piece. I admire our local weavers the most. They are the little known artist. They are magnificent.

To know more about this ssc carrier and the other types of carrier. Please visit QB‘s Facebook page. They also have products other than carriers for babies. I love browsing their products I often spend an hour or more just browsing their page. This is proudly Pinoy made, let us support our local products.

Busisi ni Pinaynay

Busisi I guess has no direct translation in English that I am aware of. Busisi is doing something intricately. When you say “mabusisi” it is like a heavy task that needs so much time and attention, that is what I am on this stage. Everything and everyone just needs extra time and attention.

I have been doing a lot of things lately that I am so behind with my writings. Not that I am being to do this stuff, but well only somebody with the soul write will ubderstand.

I have a lot of pending reviews for Babywearing Testers. I am so so sorry! I promise to post it up as soon as I got all tbe picture from the other devices.

So, what in the world happened to me? We moved. The past few months had been very stressful to me not to mention that we moved a few weeks before the youngest cub’s first birthday. The house hunting, the packing and the transporting, it was crazy!

Just when everything had been doing well. The internet and the cable didn’t. We just had it days ago. I almost give up on them but at last now it is all set up, we’re up and all set up so I’ll be “mabusisi” with blogging again! See yah!
